John Jez enters his third season as head men’s lacrosse coach at C.W. Post, after serving as an assistant coach with the Pioneers for two seasons. Jez is the eighth head coach in the history of the program.
 
In 2008, the Pioneers put forth their best season in recent memory with an 11-3 overall record, the most wins since the 1999 season. The Pioneers started the season 6-0 and were ranked as high as third in the USILA coaches poll during the season and finished fourth overall in the final poll. Following the season, five players were named All-American, including USILA First Team selection Greg Cerar. Additionally, Matt Dimler was selected Academic All-American.  
 
In his first season as head coach, the Pioneers posted a perfect record through their first six games of the season and were ranked as high as fourth in the nation, finishing the season with a 9-4 record.
 
C.W. Post went 17-8 in the two years that Jez served as an assistant coach under Tom Postel, and advanced to the 2005 NCAA Division II semifinals. He has helped mentor 21 All- America players during his time at C.W. Post.
 
Jez came to C.W. Post after serving as head coach at Pace University from 2003-04. He led the Setters to as high as the No. 3 ranking nationally in Division II and coached the nation’s top scoring offense at the Pleasantville, N.Y. school.
 
Jez previously served as Pace’s assistant coach for six seasons prior to his promotion, and spent one year as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart.
 
A former two-time All-America (1993-94) performer at Pfeiffer, Jez serves on the USILA All-America Committee, the USILA Ranking Committee and the NCAA Championship Lacrosse Committee.
 
Jez currently serves as an assistant on the support staff of the US Men’s National Team. Jez will serve as an assistant general manager in 2010. 
 
He resides in Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., with his wife, Christine, and their three children: Olivia (10), Dakota (4) and Jalyn (2).
