PSAC Names Five Pioneers To East All-Conference Football Teams

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
(Nov. 13, 2008) – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its all-conference football teams and C.W. Post had five representatives named to teams. 
 
Senior defensive back Kurt Ellis (Valley Stream, N.Y.), junior outside linebacker Tayrance Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and sophomore defensive linebacker Xavier Brown (Inwood, N.Y.) were named to the First Team.
 
Senior tight end Dennis Vanella (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and junior wide receiver Chris Harris (Islip, N.Y.) received Second Team honors.
 
Ellis was second overall in the PSAC with 102 tackles (58s, 44a). He broke up three passes and intercepted two for 15 yards.
 
Smith was second on the team in tackles with 87 that included eight for loss with two sacks totaling 14 yards. 
 
Brown recorded 16.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks for a loss of 44 yards along with two blocked kicks. 
 
Harris was 10th in the PSAC in yards per game with 38 catches for 699 yards that included five touchdown receptions.
 
Vanella led the Pioneers with 40 catches and averaged 31.4 receiving yards a game with one touchdown.
 
C.W. Post completed its first season the PSAC with a 3-8 overall record and 2-5 mark in conference play.
