Football Announces 2008 Season Schedule
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 23, 2008) – Director of Athletics and head football coach
Bryan Collins announced the C.W. Post football schedule for the upcoming fall 2008 season – the 52nd year of Pioneers football and their inaugural season in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
The Pioneers officially kick off the season at home against American International College on Aug. 30, and will begin conference when they play host to Indiana (Pa.) University on Sept. 6.
This season, C.W. Post will host six games, including four of its first five games, at home on Hickox Field.
The Pioneers will host Edinboro University on Sept. 13. The last time the teams squared off was during the 1978 season, when C.W. Post defeated the Fighting Scots, 28-7. C.W. Post will also face off against Shippensburg University (Oct. 4) for the first time since 1983, when the Raiders prevailed by a 40-27 score.
C.W. Post will play three schools for the first time this season: Cheyney University on Sept. 20, Millersville University on Oct. 18 and Lock Haven University on Nov. 8.
The Pioneers will also face West Chester University (Oct. 11) and East Stroudsburg University for the first time since the 2005 NCAA Division II Championships. C.W. Post defeated West Chester, 24-20, in the Northeast Region first round before falling to East Stroudsburg, 55-28, in the quarterfinal round.
C.W. Post will close out the 2008 season with it final two games on the road against Kutztown University (Nov. 1) and Lock Haven (Nov. 8).
Also on the slate is a home game against Bloomsburg University on Sept. 27. The Pioneers will look to rebound after a 42-28 loss in their 2007 season opener to the Huskies.
