ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Apr. 26, 2008) – Sophomore left fielder
Amanda Aiello (Charlton, Mass.) batted 4 for 7 with two RBI and three runs scored in a doubleheader as C.W. Post swept Molloy College, 9-0, in the first game and 6-2 in the nightcap.
C.W. Post improves its overall record to 39-14 with a 16-2 clip in the conference. Molloy slips to 22-24 overall and 8-12 in conference action.
In the first game, senior
Samantha Yodowitz (Suffern, N.Y.) pitched her sixth shutout and 21st complete game of the season and allowed just one hit – a double in the first inning off the bat of sophomore catcher Tiffany D'Alessandro – while striking out six and walking one.
The Pioneers got on the board in the top of the third inning with two runs scored on a sacrifice fly to centerfield from sophomore shortstop
Christie Softy (Floral Park, N.Y.) and an RBI singled up the middle from junior catcher
Melissa Hippo (Granite Bay, Calif.).
C.W. Post added five more runs in the fourth on three hits and two errors. Aiello and senior second baseman
Kelsey Cooley (Syracuse, N.Y.) each had two RBI doubles. Softy scored from third later in the inning on an error by the catcher.
The Pioneers scored two more runs in the top of the sixth on a double to right centerfield from senior second baseman

Aiello batted 3 for 4 with two runs batted in and two runs scored while Cooley went 2 for 2 with two runs driven in.
Junior Amanda Havdoglous took the loss for the Lions, pitching three and a quarter innings and allowed five earned runs on six hits while issuing five walks.
In the second game, C.W. Post took an early 2-0 lead in the first when Hippo singled to left field to score Cooley and sophomore centerfielder

Molloy got one run back in the bottom half of the inning when D'Allesandro homered to left center.
The Pioneers scored three additional runs in the top of the third. Two runs were scored when junior third baseman
Megan Correia (Seekonk, Mass.) reach on an error by the third baseman, allowing Softy and Yodowitz to score. Junior rightfielder
Katie Fisher (Boyertown, Pa.) drove in the third run with a triple to left field.
The Lions scored their second run in the bottom of the fourth when sophomore rightfielder Erin Rut led off with a double to left field and scored on a single from junior second baseman Michelle Walsh.
The Pioneers scored their sixth run in the top of the sixth when Softy singled to left field to score Aiello from third.
Freshman
Christina Berardi (Raynham, Mass.) picked up her 15th win of the season when she went the distance, allowing two earned runs on seven hits while striking out four and walking one.
Havdoglous took the loss, pitching seven innings and allowing three earned runs on nine hits with one strikeout and four issued walks.
C.W. Post will wrap up the regular season on the road against Mercy College on Sunday, Apr. 27, beginning at 12 p.m.
