Yodowitz Named ECC Pitcher of the Week
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 28, 2008) - For the fourth straight week, senior pitcher Samantha Yodowitz (Suffern, N.Y.) received East Coast Conference weekly honors, as she was named Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Yodowitz posted a 4-0 record with a 1.03 ERA, tossing two shutouts and striking out 22 in 26.1 innings of work. She allowed only three runs as opponenets hits just .194 against her. In addiditon, Yodowitz helped herself at the plate, batting .375 on the week with six RBI.
The Pioneers ended the regular season with a 41-14 record, clinched the top seed in the ECC, and will play the winner of Bridgeport/NYIT at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, at Dowling College's Brookhaven Campus in Shirley, N.Y., as part of the ECC Tournament.
