Messina Named ECAC Men's Lacrosse Rookie Of The Year

CENTERVILLE, Mass. (June 18, 2008) – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released its men's lacrosse All-Star team Wednesday morning and selected freshman midfielder
Mike Messina (Sayville, N.Y.) as Rookie of the Year. Junior attacker
Greg Cerar (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was selected to the conference's First Team.
Messina recorded nine points on four goals and five assists in 14 games played.
Cerar, who was also named USILA First Team All-American and First Team All-ECC, led the Pioneers with 43 goals and 24 assists, which ranked him fourth in Division II in goals per game (3.14) and points per game (4.86).
C.W. Post recorded an 11-3 overall record and 4-2 mark in the East Coast Conference.
