C.W. Post Ranked 29th in NACDA Director's Cup
DALLAS (June 30, 2008) - The U.S. Sports Academy released its final standings for the NCAA Division II Directors' Cup, and C.W. Post finished 29th out of 231 programs nationwide. The Pioneers finished the 2007-2008 academic calendar with 400.50 total points. The award scores schools based on their final national ranking.
The ranking was the highest finish of any school in the East Coast Conference, and the second-highest finish in the Northeast Region.
C.W. Post showcased NCAA playoff appearances in 10 different sports, including its second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship game in women's lacrosse, a second straight College World Series appearance in softball, and baseball's first trip to the NCAA Regional since 1985.
C.W. Post also boasted success both on the field –and on the court- by capturing East Coast Conference titles in four different sports including baseball, men's basketball, women's soccer, and softball. Men's basketball claimed both the regular season and conference tournament titles for the first time in program history. Additionally, the baseball team captured the ECC championship title for the first time.
