Football Selected To Finish Fifth In PSAC Eastern Division Preseason Poll

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Aug. 4, 2008) –  The C.W. Post football program has been selected to finish fifth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division, the conference announced at its annual Media Day Monday afternoon on the campus of Lock Haven University.

West Chester University, who claimed the Eastern Division in 2007 with a perfect 5-0 record in conference play, was again selected to the top spot with five first-place votes by the conference coaches. Bloomsburg, who received two first-place votes, was selected second, followed by East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg, C.W. Post, Kutztown, Millersville and Cheyney to round out the poll.

In the conference's Western Division, California University (Pa.) was picked first with six first-place tallies followed by Indiana University (Pa.), Edinboro, Slippery Rock, Mercyhurst, Clarion, Gannon and Lock Haven.

C.W. Post, who finished the 2007 season with a 4-6 overall record as a member of the Northeast-10 Conference, begins its first season playing in the PSAC as an associate member. 

The Pioneers open the 2008 season at home against non-conference NE-10 opponent American International University on Aug. 30 and will begin conference play against Indiana University (Pa.) on Sept. 6, also at home on Hickox Field.
