BROOKVILLE N.Y. (Sept 18, 2008)- Crosstown rival Adelphi University took down the C.W. Post Tennis team 7-2 in East Coast Conference action Thursday afternoon.

Freshman Aysylu Mardanova put the Pioneers on the board, defeating Meagan Margino in three sets, 6-0, 2-6 and 7-5.

Senior Alexis Kramer (Dix Hills, N.Y.) tried to rally back her team in No. 5 singles, as the Pioneers were down by a margin of 3-1. She swept Trish Burns 6-2, and 6-0 in her two sets, but her efforts were not enough to pull the Pioneers out on top.

Head Coach Renie Sokolowski and her Pioneers are set to take on Saint Thomas Aquinas College as they travel to Sparkill, N.Y. on September 23 at 3 p.m.
