Women's Tennis Drops 7-2 Decision To St. Thomas Aquinas

SPARKILL, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2008)- The C.W. Post women's tennis team was defeated by St. Thomas Aquinas Tuesday afternoon, 7-2.

 

Freshman Aysylu Mardanova scored a point for the Pioneers, as she won her No. 2 singles. She beat STAC opponent Caroline Gizzi in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, and 12-10. Senior Alexis Kramer (Dix Hills, N.Y.) also  notched a point for the Pioneers as she defeated Danielle Bicknell 6-1, 6-2. Kramer and Masdanova both improved their personal singles records to 2-1.

 

The singles efforts were not enough to rally back C.W. Post as they fell to St. Thomas Aquinas in all three doubles matches.

 

The Pioneers will take the court again Tuesday, September 30 as they travel to Dowling College.
