Beverly Captures PSAC Offensive Player Of The Week Citation
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Oct. 4, 2009) – Freshman running back Thomas Beverly (Wyandanch, N.Y.) was awarded this week's Offensive Player of the Week award by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, the conference announced on Sunday.
Beverly ran for a season and career-high 170 yards with two touchdowns to help lead C.W. Post to a 40-24 upset win over Shippensburg. The freshman averaged an impressive 8.5 yards per carry. Beverly scored on a TD run of 47 yards midway through the first quarter to tie the game 7-7 and then in the fourth quarter, with Shippensburg nursing a 24-21 lead, he ran for his second score of the day from 43 yards out to give the Pioneers the lead for good. Beverly is currently ranked second overall in the PSAC in rushing, averaging 94.3 yards per game.
