USILA Ranks Men's Lacrosse Third This Week

BALTIMORE (Feb. 23, 2009) – The C.W. Post men's lacrosse team was voted third in this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) weekly coaches poll, released Monday afternoon.
 
There were no changes in the top four from the preseason poll as East Coast Conference rival New York Institute of Technology was the leader with eight first-place votes, followed by Northeast-10 member Le Moyne College. Mercyhurst College stayed at the No. 4 slot.
 
The Pioneers went 2-0 last week during their trip to North Carolina with wins against Wingate University (15-7) and Catawba College (18-5). 
 
Adelphi University moved up one spot to No. 5 followed by Dowling College who moved up from seventh.  Mars Hill University, who was previously ranked tenth, moved up to No. 8. Molloy College remained ninth and both Belmont Abbey and Limestone College were tenth this week.

Seton Hill University, Bentley University and Notre Dame de Namur University received votes this week.
 
C.W. Post will play its home opener Feb. 28 against Assumption College at 1 p.m. on Hickox Field.
