Berardi Earns ECC Pitcher Of The Week Picks
Central Islip, N.Y. (Mar. 17, 2009)- The East Coast Conference released its weekly report Tuesday morning, tabbing sophomore Christina Berardi (Raynham, Mass.) as Pitcher of the Week.
Berardi went 3-1 with a 0.52 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 27 innings on the week. She fired a no-hitter against regional mainstay Caldwell on Saturday, while just two of her 15 hits allowed during her four complete games were of the extra-base variety.
C.W. Post, ranked 21st in the most recent NFCA poll, ended its Florida trip with a split at the Rebel Games, defeating Caldwell 1-0 behind Christina Berardi's no-hitter, but dropping the nightcap 6-5 despite a late comeback effort. With an overall record of 4-6, the Pioneers will play their home opener next Saturday as they take on American International College on March 21st at 1:30 p.m., followed by another doubleheader against Le Moyne on Sunday at noon.
