Football Announces 2009 Schedule; Pioneers To Open Season At Home Against American International

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 16, 2009) –  C.W. Post Director of Athletics and head football coach Bryan Collins announced the schedule for the upcoming 2009 season – the 53rd season of Pioneer football.
C.W. Post will host six home games this season, where all games are slated for a 1 p.m. this season.

The Pioneers start the season August 29 at home against Northeast-10 opponent American International College on Hickox Field. The Pioneers look to avenge a 45-19 loss to the Yellow Jackets in 2008

C.W. Post begins conference play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference with back-to-back contests on the road at Indiana University (Pa.) Sept. 5 and Edinboro University on Sept. 12.

On Sept. 19, the Pioneers return to host Cheyney University. Last season, the Pioneers defeated the Wolves, 35-0.

The squad is back on the road for meeting with Bloomsburg University on Sept. 26. The Pioneers return home Oct. 3 to host Shippensburg University that will be part of C.W. Post Homecoming.

West Chester University comes to town Oct. 10 for a rematch from last season where the Golden Rams captured a 17-7 win.  From there, C.W. Post travels to play at Millersville University Oct. 17 and will stay on the road to play the next week at East Stroudsburg University on Oct. 24.

C.W. Post closes out the regular season hosting their final two games against Kutztown University (Oct. 31) and Lock Haven University (Nov. 7). The Pioneers lost a close battle to Kutztown, 21-14, last season before rebounding with a 30-28 win over Lock Haven.
