Cerar Tabbed ECC Player Of The Week; Plompen Receives Rookie Honors
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 27, 2009) – Senior attack Greg Cerar (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) received East Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for his four-goal and two-goal performance against fifth-ranked Molloy College. In addition, freshman attacker Eddie Plompen (West Islip, N.Y.) recorded a hat trick and was named Rookie of the Week. Cerar received the nod for the third time this season while Plompen received his first ECC recognition.
Cerar netted four goals against Molloy to bring his season total to 37. He also assisted on two more Pioneer goals. Cerar netted three goals in the second quarter as part of an eight-goal drive before the end of the half. This season, Cerar has tallied 70 points (37g, 33a).
Plompen had a great game against Molloy, registering a hat trick and adding two assists to bring his season goal total to 16 goals and 11 assists. Plompen scored the second goal of the game in the first quarter and netted a pair in the second quarter as part of an eight-goal drive for the Pioneers.
