Cerar Honored As ECAC Player of the Year; Pioneers Land Three Players On All-Star Team

Greg Cerar (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named this year's Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Player of the Year, in addition to a spot on the organization's First Team all-star squad. Graduate student

Bryan Leonard (Yorktown, N.Y.) also received First Team honors, the organization announced Thursday.
A third-year USILA All-America selection and this year's Most Outstanding Player, Cerar led the nation with an average 5.3 points per game. Cerar, who was named an East Coast All-Conference selection for the fourth consecutive year, led the Pioneers with 48 goals this year. He tallied four goals in the championship game against LeMoyne. He has earned seven man-up tallies and dished out 34 assists. Cerar led the ECC with three man-down goals this season.
Dimler has played his best season with the Pioneers in 2009, tallying 36 points on 29 goals and eight assists. He was selected USILA First Team All-America and ECC First Team this season.
Leonard, who was also named USILA First Team All-American, is second on the squad with 19 caused turnovers on the defensive end and has two goals and an assist to his credit.
The Pioneers (15-1, 6-0 ECC) captured their second NCAA championship title in program history with an 8-7 win over top-ranked and previously undefeated LeMoyne College.
