Cerar Selected To Appear In June 22 Issue Of Sports Illustrated's "Faces In The Crowd"
NEW YORK (June 16, 2009) – A four-goal performance against LeMoyne College for the NCAA Division II men's lacrosse national championship following an astonishing season has earned C.W. Post senior attacker Greg Cerar (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) a spot in the June 22 issue of Sports Illustrated's “Faces In The Crowd” section, the magazine announced Tuesday afternoon.
Cerar, who led the Pioneers with 48 goals and 38 assists this season, received the Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award as the top player in NCAA Division II. He was also voted the East Coast Conference Player of the Year by the league's head coaches. Following the Pioneers' championship win, Cerar was named the game's most outstanding player.
C.W. Post (15-1, 6-0 ECC) captured its second national title in program history by defeating LeMoyne, 8-7, on May 24 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
