Bloomsburg scored early in the first quarter in its first drive after C.W. Post was forced to punt from its own 37. Taking possession at their own 38, the Huskies scored when Latorre completed a pass to junior wide receiver Corey Stiger (Williamsport, Pa.) in the endzone for a 20-yard touchdown at 10:57 as part of a four-play, 62-yard drive.

The Pioneers answered minutes later at 7:20 when junior quarterback #Eric Anderwkavich# (Queens, N.Y.) completed a 17-yard pass to senior wide receiver #Chris Harris# (Islip, N.Y.) in the endzone. It was the first time this season the Huskies have allowed a touchdown in the first half.

Bloomsburg started its second drive of the game on its own 35 and advanced downfield to the C.W. Post 20 before a 10-yard holding penalty was called on the Pioneers to move the ball to the 10. The Huskies made good on the opportunity and eventually scored when Price rushed in from the 1-yard line on 2nd-and-goal as time expired in the quarter.

C.W. Post nearly tied the game in its third series in the second quarter at 3rd-and-goal on the Bloomsburg 2-yard line but couldn't break through as freshman running back Thomas Beverly (Wyandanch, N.Y.) rushed for a loss of three and Anderwkavich threw an incomplete pass intended for junior wide receiver Darnal Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to turn the ball over on downs.

The Huskies cushioned their lead later in quarter to 21-7 with 10:10 on the clock when Price took a handoff on 1st-and-10 at the Pioneers' 33 and broke free from the defense to reach the endzone.
