EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Jan. 13, 2010)
– The C.W. Post swimming team won 12 of 14 events and defeated East Stroudsburg, 154-106, Wednesday evening.
 
Junior Riley Cassidy (Cambridge, Ontario) earned an NCAA “B” cut in the 200 butterfly when she clocked in first at 2 minutes, 09.52 seconds. Cassidy also won the 200 individual medley convincingly with a final time of 2:12.65. 
 
Leading the Pioneers with three individual wins was freshman Cornelia Hanes (Stockholm, Sweden), who was first in the 50 free (25.35), the 100 free (55.09) and the 100 fly (1:00.42). 
 
Senior Brittany Roman-Green (Woodstock, N.Y.) captured wins in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.18) and 200 backstroke (2:16.03).
 
Freshman Kristina Fritsch (Brooklyn, N.Y.) claimed two individual wins, first in the 1000 freestyle when she beat out three ESU swimmers to finish 11:09.28. Fritsch went on to win the 500 free (5:25.66).
 
In the 200 breaststroke, senior Josephine Tjernstrom (Bromma, Sweden) was first to the wall with a final time of 2:30.44. Freshman Carly Marshall (Stockholm, Sweden) followed up in second place, clocking in at 2:41.45.
 
Senior Dora Biocic (Zagreb, Croatia) captured a win in the 100 breast with a final time of 1:13.15.
 
Roman-Green, Cassidy, Biocic and Hanes combined for a win in the 100 medley relay (1:52.05), narrowly beating out C.W. Post's “B” team comprised of senior Morgan Feliccia (Arnold, Md.), Tjernstrom, junior Sofi Mathsson (Stockholm, Sweden) and freshman Sandra Kirstein (Hollviken, Sweden) (1:53.77).
