Football Ready To Play No. 18 Kutztown For Top Spot In PSAC East
KUTZTOWN, Pa (Oct. 22, 2010) - The C.W. Post football team will travel to play 18th-ranked Kutztown University in a Saturday night showdown in PSAC East action. The Pioneers (5-2) are looking to hang onto the top position in the east division standings with a win over the undefeated Golden Bears (7-0).
Each team is averaging roughly 400 offensive yards a game (C.W. Post: 392.3; Kutztown: 414.0) which should make for an exciting, high scoring game.
The Pioneers are 3-0 this season when playing away from Hickox and are outscoring their opponents 30.0-20.7 while averaging 424.3 yards on the gridiron. The Pioneer running game has amassed 714 rushing yards on the road while the defensive unit has held opponents to just 362 total yards.
Senior quarterback
Erik Anderwkavich leads the team with 18 touchdowns this season, including four rushing TD's. Anderwkavich's favorite receiving target,
Darnel Williams, has 43 catches for 657 yards and six touchdowns. Likewise,
Thomas Beverly has carried the ball 95 times for 472 yards and three scores.
Anthony Brunetti has been impressive during his last few outings and has rushed the ball 68 times for 320 yards and four touchdowns.
