Anderwkavich's Offensive Performance Against Kutztown Garners PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week Honors
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Oct. 24, 2010) – Senior quarterback Erik Anderwkavich (Queens, N.Y.) was named this week's PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week after his record setting performance in Saturday evening's contest against Kutztown.
Anderwkavich set a new school and PSAC record by accounting for 651 yards of total offense by throwing for 566 yards and rushing for 85 as he did all he could to lead the Pioneers to a win in a tough two-point loss, 50-48 to Kutztown. With his record-setting performance, he is the first player this year to earn a PSAC Player of the Week award after a loss. The senior completed 38-of-55 passes (69.1 pct.) for a school record 566 yards and threw for five touchdowns. He breaks the old PSAC record for total offense of 647 held by Edinboro's Trevor Harris, becoming only the second player in PSAC history to accumulate over 600 yards of total offense in a game. His 566 passing yards ranks third all-time in PSAC history. Three of his TD tosses came in the fourth quarter and he also converted a pass on a two-point conversion as he rallied the Pioneers back from a 20-point deficit to come within a missed field goal as time expired of handing Kutztown its first loss.
