Guadagnini and Namahoe Named to ECC Volleyball All-Conference Second Team
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Nov. 12, 2010) – Senior
Marilena Guadagnini (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and freshman
Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) each earned spots on the recently announced volleyball ECC All-Conference second team.
Guadagnini earned the spot behind a career year in both kills and digs. The senior totaled 325 kills and 390 digs, both of which are team-highs. Guadagnini earned double-double marks with kills and digs 13 times during the season.
Namahoe finished the year first on the team in total blocks with 59 and second on the team with 288 kills. During the year, the freshman from Hawaii earned ECC Rookie of the Week twice.
Guadagnini, Namahoe, and the Pioneers will begin postseason play tonight with an ECC Semifinal match with #23 Dowling. The match will start at 5 p.m. with NYIT hosting the championships.
