Football Scores Nine Touchdowns To Cruise Past Cheyney, 63-28

CHEYNEY, Pa. (Nov. 6, 2010)
– Senior quarterback Erik Anderwkavich (Queens, N.Y.) and freshman running back Anthony Brunetti (Bayville, N.Y.) combined to score seven touchdowns as C.W. Post won its fifth PSAC East division contest with a 63-28 win over Cheyney University Saturday afternoon.
 
C.W. Post improves its overall record to 6-4 and 5-2 in the PSAC East. Cheyney drops to 1-9 overall and 1-6 in division play.
 
 Brunetti scored two of his touchdowns in the first quarter on 18 and 2-yard runs while Anderwkavich completed a 21-yard pass to senior wide receiver Darnel Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.). Cheyney mixed in a 9-yard run from John Newman and the Pioneers led 21-6.
 
In the second quarter, Anderwkavich completed a 1-yard quick pass to Williams for the Pioneers' fourth touchdown of the game. The Wolves sliced the lead to 28-14 when Marcus Jones sprinted into the endzone for a 1-yard TD.
 
C.W. Post regained control and closed out the first half with a pair of touchdowns, beginning with a 1-yard run from Brunetti at 6:03 followed by a 16-yard pass from Anderwkavich to sophomore Grayson Laurino (Manhasset, N.Y.). 
 
Brunetti scored the only touchdown of the third quarter with an 8-yard rush to put the Pioneers ahead, 49-14.
 
Cheyney added two more scores in the fourth quarter with a 5-yard run from Chris Anderson and a 12-yard run from Lamar Burrell.
 
The Pioneers got additional help from with a 53-yard run from Jeff Mack (Bronx, N.Y.) and a fumble recovery in the endzone from Billy Clark (East Norwich, N.Y.) to end the game.
 
Brunetti finished the game with 143 rushing yards and four touchdowns while Mack rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown.
 
Anderwkavich was 14 for 19 for 144 yards with three touchdown completions.
 
C.W. Post returns to action next Saturday on the road against Slippery Rock at 1 p.m.
