Ohlson and Carlsson Earn All-Conference Honors
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Nov. 7, 2010) – Two men's soccer players,
Joakim Ohlson (Lund, Sweden) and
David Carlsson (Gothenburg, Sweden), earned spots on the East Coast Conference first team, as the All-Conference teams were announced on Sunday afternoon.
Ohlson garnered a spot on the first team following a rookie campaign that saw the midfielder score six goals, tying for the team lead, and dish out three assists. Two of his goals were game winners for the Pioneers.
Carlsson earns his third All-Conference citation following a junior year that saw him score four goals including two game winners, along with two assists.
The Pioneers finished the season with a 7-8-2 record, along with a second straight appearance in the East Coast Conference tournament where they tied Dowling 1-1, but fell to the eventual champs in penalty kicks, 4-3.
