Inside Lacrosse Tabs Five Pioneers On Preseason All-America Team

BALTIMORE (Dec. 6, 2010) – Inside Lacrosse Magazine released the 2011 Preseason All-American watch list and named five C.W. Post men's lacrosse players.
 
Senior midfielder Mike Messina (Sayville, N.Y.), was named First Team while senior attacker Nick Coric (Walnut Creek, Calif.), and junior attackers Eddie Plompen (West Islip, N.Y.) and Keith Rodriguez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) landed on the Second Team. Also receiving Honorable Mention was senior defender Dan DaCosta (Putnam Valley, N.Y.).
 
Messina tallied 18 goals and nine assists last season as a junior while scooping up 21 ground balls for the 16-1 Pioneer squad, including a goal in the national title game against Le Moyne on May 30.
 
Plompen returns after leading the offensive charge last season with 45 goals with nine assists, including four against Le Moyne. 
Coric was third overall in scoring with 24 goals while leading the team with 27 assists last season. 
 
Rodriguez was also instrumental on offense with 16 goals and 14 assists last season. 
 
DaCosta has been a three-year starter and will lead one of the top defense units in the country. Last season, he was third overall in caused turnovers with 23 and scooped up 22 ground balls.
