Men's Lacrosse Ranked First In USILA Preseason Poll
PERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 15, 2010) – The C.W. Post men's lacrosse team received top billing in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association preseason poll, it was announced Monday afternoon.
The Pioneers tallied five first-place votes to lead the field of ten teams. Le Moyne College received one first-place vote to place second overall, followed by fellow East Coast Conference member, New York Institute of Technology, Mercyhurst College and Merrimack College to round out the top five.
Limestone College placed sixth while ECC member Dowling College was seventh. Saint Leo University followed eighth and both Molloy College and Bentley University tied for ninth to close out the poll. Mars Hill and Adelphi University each received votes this week.
The Pioneers (1-0) defeated Queens University of Charlotte, 14-6, to open the 2010 season. They will conclude their North Carolina trip by taking on Catawba College Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m.
