Men's Lacrosse Stays No. 1 In This Week's USILA Poll
PERRY, N.Y. (March 15, 2010) – A 7-4 win over Bentley University improved the C.W. Post men's lacrosse team to 5-0 this season and helped keep the Pioneers No. 1 in this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's weekly coaches poll.
LeMoyne College, who defeated Catawba College, 21-7, remained second while Mercyhurst's 2-0 win against conference opponent, Molloy College, kept the Lakers third. The top three schools remain the only undefeated teams in the East region.
Limestone College came in fourth followed by Bentley, who defeated New York Tech 10-9 before falling to the Pioneers. Dowling College moved up on spot to seventh after defeating Adelphi University, 9-8. Mars Hill College slipped one spot to eighth after a 10-9 loss to Limestone.
Queens University of Charlotte and Saint Leo University each tied for ninth while Merrimack College, Adelphi and Saint Anselm College each received votes in the poll.
C.W. Post (5-0, 1-0 ECC) returns to action Sat., March 20 when it travels to play at Chestnut Hill College for a 1 p.m. contest.
