Softy's Career Week Garners ECC Player Of The Week Honor
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 12, 2010) – Senior shortstop Christie Softy (Floral Park, N.Y.) of the C.W. Post softball team scored her second East Coast Conference Player of the Week nod this season.
Softy had an eventful week, first by breaking the school record with her 35th career home run against Molloy and then breaking the RBI record, driving in her 170th career run against Mercy. Softy batted .429 (9 for 21) at the plate, driving in nine runs and coming around to score seven.
After breaking the HR record against Molloy, she swatted out two more against Mercy and Dowling, which gave the Pioneers the go-ahead run against the Golden Lions. Softy now has 36 homers and has driven in 177 runs thus far.
C.W. Post (25-7, 11-1 ECC) returns to action to play at the University of Bridgeport on Tuesday, April 13 at 3 p.m.
