Plompen Scores Six As No. 5 Men's Lacrosse Takes Down Molloy, 16-6

ROCKVILLE CENTRE N.Y. (April 24, 2010) – Sophomore attacker
Eddie Plompen (West Islip, N.Y.) tallied six goals to push No. 5 C.W. Post past Molloy College, 16-6, Saturday afternoon in East Coast Conference men's lacrosse contest at Dean Skelos Complex.
C.W. Post improves to 12-1 overall and 6-1 in conference action. Molloy drops to 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the ECC.
The Pioneers led 3-0 after the first quarter after senior midfielder
Joe Meo (Sayville, N.Y.) scored the game's first goal at 12:33 followed by a pair of goals from Plompen.
Both teams scored three goals in the second quarter as Meo scored his second goal of the game followed by another pair of goals from Plompen. The Lions got help from senior midfielder Albert Maione (West Islip, N.Y.), who scored two in the quarter.
The Pioneers went on to score five goals in each of the third and fourth quarters, including goals from junior midfielder
Doug Hoch (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.), sophomore attacker
Keith Rodriguez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) and sophomore attacker
Brad DeSouza (Trumbull, Conn.) in the third quarter. C.W. Post led 11-5 after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, the Pioneers widened their lead by outscoring the Lions 5-0 through 13 and a half minutes of play. Plompen and each added a goal as well as senior defender

Maione scored his fourth goal of the game for Molloy with 37 seconds remaining in regulation.
Meo finished the game with four goals for the Pioneers.
Junior goalkeeper Dan Orlando (South Hempstead, N.Y.) won his ninth game of the season after making eight saves in goal.
Maione led the Lions in scoring with four goals.
C.W. Post stays on the road for its next opponent when it visits Mercyhurst on Saturday, May 1 at 1 p.m.
