Football Receives Votes In This Week's AFCA Coaches Poll

WACO, Texas (Aug. 31, 2010) – The C.W. Post football team received votes in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches poll, which was released Tuesday.

Northwest Missouri State led the field of 25 with 23 first-place votes. PSAC members California (Pa.) and West Chester were ranked fifth and 21st, respectively.
The Pioneers, who last made an appearance in the poll on Oct. 31, 2006 (No. 25), were 6-5 overall with a 5-2 mark in division play in 2009. They return many of their core players, including PSAC Freshman of the Year Thomas Beverly (Wyandanch, N.Y.) and ECAC Player of the Year Erik Anderwkavich (Queens, N.Y.).  
C.W. Post opens its season on Saturday, Sept. 4 at American International College at 1 p.m.
