Namahoe Earns Co-MVP Honors at NE-10/ECC Challenge; Guadagnini on All-Tournament Team
WALTHAM, MASS. (Sept. 18, 2010) – After the Volleyball team went 3-0 this weekend at the NE-10/ECC challenge, some of the individuals on the team earned accolades as well. Freshman
Makamae Namahoe earned Co-MVP honors, sharing the MVP title with Dowling's junior setter Maja Potpara (Pljevlja, Montenegro). Joining Namahoe on the All-Tournament team was Senior
Marilena Guadagnini (Huntington Beach, Calif.).
In the three game tournament, Namahoe tallied totals of 37 kills, six service aces, 20 digs, and assisted on eight blocks. Including all these numbers, Namahoe also put together a .458 hitting percentage in the second game.
As for Guadagnini, she also put together some impressive numbers, helping to land her spot on the All-Tournament Team. For the three games, she put together 32 kills, eight service aces, and a total of 38 digs.
The Pioneers will be back in action tomorrow morning at 11 a.m., as they take on LeMoyne in the Pratt Recreation center.
