Collins is in his 13th season as head coach at C.W. Post and has a 94-41 overall record. Under his leadership, the Pioneers have become a perennial nationally-ranked squad that won four undisputed Northeast-10 Conference championships (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005) and a share of another NE-10 title (2006), as well as three times earning a berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
