Box Score
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2010) – The C.W. Post Pioneers made quick work of Molloy College with a 3-0 win in the East Coast Conference opener of volleyball action Thursday evening at Quealy Gymnasium.
C.W. Post improves to 11-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play while Molloy drops to 3-8 overall and 0-1 in the ECC. The match lasted one hour and 10 minutes.

The Pioneers broke away in the first set after the score was tied at four and went on to close out things with a 21-5 run. Guadagnini, sophomore Geony Fisher (Goodyear, Ariz.) and freshman Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) each had four kills in the set for the Pioneers.
In the second set, the Pioneers never relinquished the lead and kept a healthy distance from the Lions throughout most of the battle. Trailing by as many as 10 points (21-11), Molloy went on a 9-3 run to catch up and cut the Pioneers' lead to 24-20. A kill from Fisher on the next point play ended the threat and gave C.W. Post a 2-0 momentum headed into the final set of the night.
The third set was a battle as both teams fought to gain an advantage and tied the game up 12 times. The Lions took a 22-20 lead late in the game courtesy of a kill and an attacking error on the Pioneers. C.W. Post shifted the balance back in its favor with back-to-back kills from Fisher and senior outside hitter Sammy Figliolia (Wantagh, N.Y.). A setting error on Molloy's Jennifer Koelbel (West Hempstead, N.Y.) on the next scoring play gave the Pioneers the lead for good. Fisher recorded the final kill on a pass from Ostapow.
The Lions were led on offense by senior outside hitter Meaghan Meyer (East Meadow, N.Y.), who had eight kills. Senior Arielle Wichard (Merrick, N.Y.) added seven kills for Molloy.
