Tennis Swept by Queens, 9-0
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 29, 2010) – Tennis dropped to 2-5 on the season after its 9-0 loss to Queens College. The win improves Queens to 10-0 on the season. This became the ninth time Queens has defeated an opponent via a sweep this season.
Junior Morgan Milleisen (Bayport, N.Y.) played a in very competitive singles match, as she dropped both sets 6-7 and 5-7 to Queens Junior Taylor Barber (Salt Lake City, UT). Milleisen was originally up 4-2 in the first set but could not stop the comeback effort by Barber.
Senior Kristin Hetiler (East Rockaway, N.Y.) and sophomore Dorine Sousa (Carle Place, N.Y.) were involved in the most competitive doubles match, as they dropped the match 4-8 against senior Maria Perevezentseva (Moscow, Russia) and sophomore Monica Cariaso (New Hyde Park, N.Y.).
