Men's Basketball Signs Burns to National Letter of Intent
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 21, 2011) – C.W. Post men's basketball coach Chris Casey recently announced that Dillon Burns (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has signed a national letter of intent to suit up for the Pioneers in the 2012-13 season.
Burns is a 5-foot-6 guard who plays for Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, out the CHSAA Class AA league. He averaged 8.2 points per game in his junior season, helping the Clippers to a 15-7 overall record. Basketball is in the blood for Burns, as his father, Tommy, played for Quinnipiac, and his older sister, Megan, plays for Concordia College. The
“We are very excited to have signed Dillon,” said Casey. “He is a high caliber player, person and student and will represent C.W. Post as such on and off the court. Dillon comes from one of the most successful and historic high school programs in New York City, Xaverian High School, and has been coached by the best in Coach Jack Alesi. This is a good day for our university and our basketball program.”
C.W. Post is currently 3-1 under second-year head coach Casey. The Pioneers will open conference play on December 7, taking on NYIT at 7 p.m.
