Four Swimmers Will Take Their Talents To The NCAAs in Texas

Four C.W. Post Women Swimmers Heading to Texas for NCAA Championships

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (February 23, 2011) – The C.W. Post women's swimming has announced that four swimmers have qualified for the NCAA Championships. The NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships will be taking place in Palo Alto, Texas from March 9-12.

All four of the swimmers who have qualified will team to participate in the relay events during the championships. Senior Riley Cassidy (Cambridge, Ontario), sophomores Cornelia Hanes (Stockholm, Sweden) and Mairi Morrison (Carnock, United Kingdom), and freshman Tamara Garriock (Duncan, Canada) will all represent the Pioneers in Texas.

Garriock will be participating in the most events out of all Pioneers on top of all relay events, with her name slotted into seven different events. The freshman will be taking part in the 50, 100, 200, and 500 Frees, 100 and 200 Breaststrokes, and the 200 Individual Medley. 

Hanes and Morrison each will be in three events beside the relay events, with both participating in the 50 and 100 Free with Garriock. Hanes will add the 100 Fly, with Morrison including the 100 Back to her event schedule.

The lone senior on this year's squad will be participating in two events. Cassidy will join Hanes in the 100 Fly while also taking part in the 200 Fly.

The Pioneer swimming team is coming off a fourth place finish at the Metropolitan Championships this past weekend. The fourth place finish came against 18 other teams from around the area taking place in the event.
