Hagenah Honored As NFCA First Team All-American
SALEM, Va. (May 25, 2011) – Freshman third baseman #Nicole Hagenah# (Commack, N.Y.) was honored as a First Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Wednesday evening at the NCAA Division II World Series dinner.
Hagenah, who is batting .469 at the plate with a .806 slugging percentage and has knocked in 61 runs on 75 hits, including 14 home runs and 12 doubles. She clubbed her 14th home run of the season in a 4-2 win over Merrimack College in the NCAA East Super Region. Hagenah was an ECC First Team selection and was voted the Rookie of the Year by the league's coaches.
C.W. Post (41-14), who captured the NCAA East Region title against Merrimack to advance to the College World Series in Salem, Va., will play its first game against California University – San Diego on Thursday at 12 p.m.
