Men's Lacrosse Reclaims Top Spot In USILA Poll

PERRY, N.Y. (May 9, 2011) – The C.W. Post men's lacrosse team ascended to the top of this week's USILA coaches poll after receiving five first-place votes.
 
C.W. Post, who clinched the East Coast Conference title with a 13-2 win over Molloy College on Saturday, returns to the top spot in the 12-team poll for the first time since Week 4.
 
Limestone College moved up two spots to second while Mercyhurst stayed third this week. LeMoyne dropped from first to fourth and Adelphi remained fifth. Dowling moved up to sixth while Mercy dropped to seventh. NYIT and Mars Hill stayed put at eighth and ninth while Catawba moved up one to 10th. Merrimack entered the poll at 11th as St. Michael's fell two spots to 12th.
 
Pfeiffer, Seton Hill and Chestnut Hill each received votes in the poll.
 
The Pioneers qualified for the NCAA tournament for the third straight year and will host Mercyhurst in the semifinal round on Saturday, May 21. The winning team will advance to the championship game to play the winner of Limestone/Adelphi on May 29 at M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.
