Women's Tennis Voted Into Fourth Spot in ECC Preseason Poll
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (August 31, 2011) – The C.W. Post women's tennis team will look to advance to a third straight appearance in the ECC Championships, as the squad has been selected by the conference's coaches in the ECC Preseason Poll to finish fourth.
This season marks a new beginning for the women's tennis team, as Carl Summerlin takes over coaching duties for the program. The team will also look to senior Morgan Milleisen (Bayport, N.Y.) to be a top performer this season as she is coming off back to back years of earning All-Conference Second Team Honors.
Queens earned the top spot in the preseason poll, coming away with six of the seven first place votes. Dowling figures in at the number two spot, with Molloy landing in at number three and earning the lone first place vote not taken by Queens. Following the fourth place C.W. Post comes in the new conference member for this upcoming season, District of Columbia. St. Thomas Aquinas and NYIT round out the poll in the sixth and seventh spots respectively.
The tennis schedule begins on Sept. 7, with the Molloy Lions opening up 2011 for the Pioneers in a home match on the campus of C.W. Post at 3:30 p.m.
