Williams Earns Second Straight ECC Rookie of the Week Award
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Jan. 18, 2012) – Freshman forward
Tyuan Williams (Newark, N.J.) was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week.
Williams averaged 12.5 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game as the Pioneers posted two wins over ECC opponents. Against Mercy, he scored 17 points with six boards, shooting 6-10 from the floor and contributing three blocks. He followed with 8 points and 12 rebounds against Molloy, just missing a double-double and also grabbing two steals.
C.W. Post improved to 11-4 overall and 5-0 in the ECC, defeating Mercy and Molloy in ECC action last week. The Pioneers are now on the road for three straight road games, traveling to Queens on January 18 for a 7 p.m. contest before trips to District of Columbia and Dowling on the 21st and 28th.
