Namahoe's 11 Spikes Lead Volleyball To 3-1 Win Over District Of Columbia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (Oct. 11, 2012) – Junior
Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) tallied a game-high 11 kills and added 17 digs to lead LIU Post to a 3-1 victory over the University of the District of Columbia in an East Coast Conference volleyball clash Thursday evening. The match scores were 19-25, 25-9, 25-13 and 25-20.
LIU Post improves to 13-10 overall and 4-3 in conference play while District of Columbia slips to 7-10 overall and 2-5 in the ECC.
Sophomore setter
Lulu Centro (Rome, Italy) helped spark the Pioneer offense with 22 assists while freshman
Rachel Ringor (Honolulu, Hawaii) led the match with 20 digs.
The Pioneers used a 13-3 run in the second set to cruise to three straight set wins. UDC held a brief 2-1 advantage in the fourth game before the Pioneers rallied with an 8-1 spurt to take the lead for good and close out the match.
LIU Post returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 13 in a tri-match against Dowling College and Stonehill College, beginning at 12 p.m. at the Pratt Recreation Center.
