ECC Tabs Delfs Player Of The Week For Second Straight Week
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 22, 2012) - The East Coast Conference released its weekly volleyball awards earlier today, with senior middle blocker Lisa Delfs (Canandaigua, N.Y.) grabbing Player of the Week recognition for the second straight week.
Delfs once again was the attack-leader for the Pioneers, smashing 55 kills on the week, good for 3.67 per set. She also tallied a Pioneer-high 19 total blocks which averaged 1.27 per set. Against Franklin Pierce, Delfs smashed 24 kills and recorded seven total blocks.
LIU Post went 3-1 on the week, picking up two ECC wins against NYIT (3-0) on Oct. 16 and Molloy College (3-0) on Oct. 18. The squad then traveled to New Hampshire on Oct. 20, beating Southern Connecticut State University 3-1, but dropping the second match of the day to host Franklin Pierce University 3-2. The Pioneers look to get back to their winning ways as they host Mercy College Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. and then travel to Roberts Wesleyan College Oct. 26 for a 7 p.m. match-up.
