INDIANAPOLIS (March 4, 2012) – The NCAA held its selection shows Sunday evening for the upcoming Division II Men's and Women's Championships and both of C.W. Post's teams have been selected to play in the East Regional.

The women were seeded seventh and will take on No. 2 seed Southern Connecticut State University on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at host Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.  This marks the second straight year the Pioneers have qualified for the tournament as they faced Bentley in last year's regional and fell 75-67 to the eventual regional champions.

Southern Connecticut was runner-up in this year's Northeast-10 Championship tournament after losing to Bentley, 79-52, earlier today.  The Owls are 24-5 overall and finished the regular season with a 19-3 conference record.

The Pioneers are 8-14 lifetime against Southern Connecticut and last played them on Nov. 29, 2008, where the Owls prevailed with an 82-62 win at home.

On the men's side, the Pioneers drew the No. 6 seed and will take on No. 3 Adelphi University on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass. with top-seeded Franklin Pierce University serving as host.  The Pioneers are making their third NCAA appearance in the last four years after capturing the ECC title for the second straight year.  Last year, they fell 74-60 to top-seeded Bentley in the opening round.

The Panthers are 20-8 overall with a 16-6 conference record this season.  They advanced to the semifinal round of the NE-10 Championships before falling to champion Stonehill, 73-60.

C.W. Post has an overall record of 39-42 against Adelphi.  They played the Panthers earlier this season on Dec. 13 and lost a close contest, 83-79.  Senior guard Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) led Pioneers in scoring with 29 points.
