Men's Lacrosse Runs Past Molloy, 9-3

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (April 28, 2012) – C.W. Post defeated Molloy College, 9-3, to win its third straight contest Saturday afternoon in East Coast Conference matchup at Dean Skelos Sports Complex.
The Pioneers took a 2-0 lead on goals from freshman attacker
Brendon Walker (St. James, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder
Connor Mackay (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) early in the first quarter.
The Lions got on the board with a goal from Kenny Lutz at 6:43 in the first on a pass from Anthony Marino.
Senior attacker
Doug Hoch (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) put the Pioneers ahead, 3-1 with a goal at 2:17 in the
first.
C.W. Post score two more in the second quarter from Hoch and senior attacker
Keith Rodriguez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) to lead 5-1 at the break.
In the third quarter, the Pioneers outscored the Lions, 3-2, with goals from freshman attacker
Gary Watson (St. James, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder
Octavio Bernabo (Mahopac, N.Y.) and junior attacker
Justin Patterson (Corning, N.Y.) that pushed their lead to 8-3. Hoch scored the game's final goal with 6:02 left in the fourth.
C.W. Post finished the game outshooting the Lions, 31-18, and held a 19-16 advantage on ground balls.
Hoch led the Pioneers with a game-high three goals while Patterson finished with a goal and two assists. Junior
Tim Bradley (Wantagh, N.Y.) made seven stops in goal to preserve the win.
C.W. Post closes out the regular season away at Chestnut Hill University on Saturday, May 5 at 12 p.m.
