Volleyball Plays To 1-1 Draw After Day 1 At LHU Tournament

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Sept. 7, 2012) – The LIU Post women's volleyball team played to a 1-1 draw during the first day of the Lock Haven Tournament. The Pioneers began their day with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-21) win over Alderson-Broaddus before falling to host Lock Haven, 3-1 (26-24, 21-25, 20-25, 20-25).
LIU Post's record improves to 4-2 overall. The Pioneers will wrap up play at the tournament when they take on Malone University and West Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday.
Against Alderson-Broaddus, junior outside hitter
Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) led with a match-high 12 kills and added 16 digs. Freshman
Rachel Ringor (Honolulu, Hawaii) chipped in with a match-high 18 digs.
In the later match, the Pioneers claimed the first set before falling in three straight. Junior outside hitter
Mari Trevisano (Tiete, Sao Paulo, Brazil) led LIU Post with 16 kills. Namahoe posted another double-double with 13 kills and 19 digs. Meanwhile, freshman
Monica Amador (Cedar Park, Texas) led the Pioneers with 27 assists.
