The second-half lead for the Pioneers ballooned to as many as 17 points (45-28) at the 15:51 mark before the Knights cut it down to a more manageable 10 points deficit with a 9-2 run, but, the hosts quickly recovered and soon led by a comfortable 20-points margin, maxing out at a 26-point advantage (70-44 with 6:26 remaining) and remaining firmly in control for the completion of the contest.

Williams' career night came on an extremely efficient 8-11 effort from the floor and 5-6 showing from the free throw line.  Junior Vaughn Allen (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) had a double-double with 13 points and 19 boards, while seniors Tobin Carberry (Hamden, Conn) added 12 points and Jonathan Kohler (Bordentown, N.J.) chipped in with 11.

The Pioneers shot 45% from the floor and out-rebounded the Knights by a 46-32 count.  The Knights had better assist-turnover numbers (15-12 compared to 17-19 for LIU Post) but only a 10-19 showing from the line as they shot 41%.
