Men’s Soccer Maintains No. 1 Ranking in NSCAA Top-25
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Oct. 16, 2013) - For the second week in a row, the LIU Post men's soccer team remained at No. 1 Tuesday in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Top-25 Poll. The Pioneers sit atop the country with a perfect 12-0 overall record.
Rollins retained its No. 2 spot for the second-straight week. Simon Fraser, St. Edward's and Lewis, respectively, all moved up in the ledger to round out the Top-5.
Northeastern State (Okla.) had the biggest drop-off, falling from fifth to 24th. Rounding out the list is Chico State at 25th. The Wildcats defeated No. 17 ranked UC San Diego, 1-0, in overtime to secure the last spot.
As for the Pioneers, they picked up a pair of wins last week. The green and gold knocked off Nyack and Bridgeport by a combined score of 9-1 over the two-game span.
Next up for LIU Post is a home match-up against East Coast Conference foe Molloy on Wednesday (Oct. 16). Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
