Men’s Soccer Drops to 15th in NSCAA Top-25
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Oct. 29, 2013) - The LIU Post men's soccer team fell to No. 15 Tuesday in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Top-25 Poll. The Pioneers are coming off an 0-1-1 week.
Rollins jumped from second to first, while sporting a perfect 15-0 record. Young Harris, Simon Fraser, Lindenwood and Notre Dame (Ohio) all moved up one spot to round out the Top-5. Post made the biggest jump, climbing from 15th to No. 6 on the ledger.
The week saw the Pioneers dropping a well-fought non-conference match-up against then-No. 15 Post by a 1-0 score. On Saturday, the green and gold tied Mercy at home, 2-2. LIU Post overcame a 2-0 deficit to send the game to extra time on late goals by junior forward Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) and freshman forward Johann Kristjansson (Reykjavik, Iceland).
Austboe, Kristjansson and the Pioneers are back to the pitch on Wednesday (Oct. 30), as they travel to Washington, D.C. to take on UDC. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m.
