FLUSHING, N.Y. (Nov. 2, 2013) - Looking destined for a third-consecutive overtime contest, freshman forward
Johann Kristjansson (Reykjavik, Iceland) tallied the deciding marker in the 74th minute Saturday, to lift the 15th-ranked LIU Post men's soccer team over Queens, 1-0, in Flushing, N.Y.
Kristjansson used his back heel to flick an

During the first half, the Knights (9-5-3, 4-4-2 ECC) accounted for the first five shots of the game, two of which were stopped by LIU Post senior netminder
Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark). The visitors then had three of the last four tries of the stanza, including a
Jonathon Watkin (Doncaster, England) clank off the iron, but the two squads went into break in a scoreless tie.
In the latter portion, Queens came out of the gate strong yet again. However, a pair of red cards to the Knights at the halfway mark had them playing shorthanded, and subsequently led to Kristjansson's game-winner with 16:16 left.
For the game, the Knights held a 13-6 advantage in shots, while the Pioneers owned a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. Between the pipes, Jorgensen finished with a a game-high eight saves. His counterpart, Sean Geoghegan (Naas City, Ireland), stopped three for Queens.
