Volleyball Snags Second Seed in NCAA Division II East Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 25, 2013) - On Monday night, the LIU Post volleyball team was awarded the No. 2 seed in the upcoming 2013 NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, as the national office released the 64-team field during a selection show.
LIU Post will face seventh-seeded Franklin Pierce in a 2:30 p.m. bout on Dec. 5 at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium in Bridgeport, Conn. In their regular-season meeting on Oct. 11, the Pioneers routed the Ravens, 3-0. Junior middle blocker
Heather Adams (Centerville, Ohio) recorded a match-best 10 kills, and a .421 hitting percentage in the win.
The winner of that contest will meet the victor of the duel between East Coast Conference foes NYIT (No. 3 seed) and Dowling (No. 6 seed) on Friday, Dec. 6.
In the other pairings, top-seeded and host Bridgeport squares off with No. 8 seed Georgian Court, while fourth-seeded New Haven battles fifth-seeded Adelphi.
The last team standing in the East Regional advances to an NCAA Division II National Quarterfinal clash versus the South Central winner on Dec. 12 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
